At Europe's premium graphics event, we will present a technical paper and a state-of-the-art report about urban modeling and simulation.
At Eurographics 2009 in Munich, we will present a state-of-the-art report about urban modeling and simulation in general, and a technical paper about interactive urban growth simulation:
Wednesday, April 1st, 9:00 - 10:30: Modeling the Appearance and Behavior of Urban Spaces The state-of-the-art report gives an overview of the most prominent methods in urban modeling and rendering, urban visualization and urban simulation models. The publication has been carried out together with experts from computer graphics research (such as Daniel Aliaga, Peter Wonka and Ben Watson), and Paul Waddell, developer of the famous Urban Sim project. The report will be presented by Daniel Aliaga and Carlos Vanegas.
Wednesday, April 1st, 11:00 - 12:30: Interactive Geometric Simulation of 4D Cities The paper presents novel algorithms for complex urban landuse and traffic simulation at interactive rates. The paper will be presented by our software engineer and game-engine expert Basil Weber and gives an impression of the applications we plan to include in future versions of the CityEngine. More information can be found here - check out the new fast-forward video! (and yes, we do that at interactive rates i.e. almost real-time)
Eurographics 2009, the 30th Annual Conference of the European Association for Computer Graphics, will take place from March 30 to April 3, 2009, in Munich, Germany. It will be organized on the Research Campus Garching of the Technische Universität München, supported by the TUM International Graduate School of Science and Engineering (IGSSE). Eurographics 2009 will provide a unique platform for the computer graphics community to showcase latest techniques and educational work, and to explore new trends and ideas, and it will also offer the opportunity to demonstrate products and services to this community.
