Pascal Müller, Founder & CEO

Pascal is the author of the original CityEngine. He is a world authority in procedural modeling with a long track record including over 25 publications and numerous presentations all over the world (ACM Siggraph, Stanford University, Lucasfilm, IMAGINA, etc.). Thanks to his scientific reputation, he has an extensive network in the entertainment and 3D modeling industry.

Simon Schubiger (PhD), Founder & CTO

Simon is a Senior Engineer who worked for six years at Swisscom Innovations before starting Procedural Inc. His strong background in software engineering and project management is the result of working more than 15 years in the IT industry. He is a serial entrepreneur and has prior startup experience with QUIX Computerware, who developed and sold the first port of the Macintosh operating system under the license of Apple Computer. Simon is also a lecturer at ETH Zürich for Mobile Systems Architectures.

Dominik Tarolli, Founder & COO

Dominik trained and consulted over 300 high-tech startups mainly in Europe and the US since 1996. He also held some minor stake in different startups, is the founder of SwissStartups.com and the BlogCamp Switzerland. Dominik has over seven years of experience in online and offline marketing, working for global clients. He was responsible for market different internet communities in Switzerland and the German part of the Swiss initiative «venturelab».

Matthias Specht (PhD), Senior Software Engineer

Matthias Specht is an expert in 3D computer graphics and geometric morphometrics and has several years of experience in the software engineering industry (BSS Audio, London UK; IBW AG, Turgi). He will contribute his knowledge in model parameterization, free-form surfaces, solid modeling and mathematics as well as his know-how in software design to Procedural Inc. Together with P. Müller, S. Schubiger, and S. Müller he co-developed the Soundium multimedia platform.

Stefan Müller Arisona (PhD), Senior Software Engineer

Stefan Müller Arisona is a computer scientist with extensive background in computer systems, software engineering, and multimedia technologies. After completing his Master's degree from ETH Zurich in 1998, he worked at Atraxis AG (the former Swissair IT company) as a Unix system engineer and consultant. From 2001 to 2008, he worked as PhD student at the University of Zurich, and as a PostDoc and lecturer at ETH Zurich and at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Andreas Ulmer, Support & Software Engineer

As co-developer of the CityEngine and co-worker of Pascal Müller he is a key driver for the future evolution of the CityEngine. After his master's thesis at ETH, he worked as programmer and 3D operator in a TV company (Virtual Entertainment, Zürich) before joining Procedural Inc.

Simon Haegler, Research & Software Engineering

Simon Haegler actively continues development of the CityEngine as part of his PhD thesis at ETH Zürich. As a part time worker at Procedural Inc. he ensures that the latest results in academia are transferred to Procedural Inc. Furthermore, he is a skilled system administrator and tool writer and will ensure a reliable, scalable IT infrastructure for the company

Basil Weber, Software Engineer

Basil Weber is an expert in real-time 3D computer graphics with a profound understanding of C++, OpenGL and graphics hardware. Since more than 10 years, he is a dedicated independent computer game programmer. Moreover, his experience includes two years of software development for the game Dybuster, a commercial multimedia software helping children with dislexia to overcome their handicap. In his master thesis, he developed an efficient urban simulation method which will be used by Procedural Inc.

Jan Halatsch, Architect

Jan is caad specialist, becoming software engineer, and architect. He has been teaching and publishing at the ETH about shape-grammar-based modeling, crowd simulation and design theory related to sustainable architecture. As a part of his PhD he is into the development of a city planning extension for the CityEngine. He designed and planned  the collaborative, interaction workspace "Value Lab". Jan is also technical project manager of the ETH's "Value Lab".
