The City Wizard assists to set up a CityEngine project and a basic city scene with streets and building volumes. The wizard is a controlled sequence of tools needed to generate a city and represents in a quick way important steps of the city modeling pipeline in the CityEngine. The wizard is intended for first-time users only.

If you have an empty workspace (because you start the CityEngine for the first time) CityEngine will prompt you either to import a project or to start the city wizard. (You can import any time a project into your workspace using "File > Import ...". In the same way you can start any time a new City Wizard using "File > New ... > CityEngine > City Wizard".)

After you chose to start the City Wizard it will ask you to give a suiting name for your new project.

In the following step you can adjust what your final city will look like. Therefor, you promote parameters to create a great looking street network and its street shapes (the 3D geometry).

Next you can create lot shapes and define how many subdivision a lot should have.
|

Finally, you can choose between two rules that can be applied onto the lots. After you click "Finish" the city will be generated.

Congratulations! You just created your first city scape.
HINT: The default 3D navigation works as in Autodesk® Maya®: press Alt together with left/middle/right mouse button for tumble/pan/dolly and the f-shortkey for framing selected objects.
