The City Wizard introduces you to the procedural workflow of city modeling in the CityEngine and assists you in creating your first city scene. You are guided through a series of operations starting with the setup pf a new project and ending with the generated building and street models. See below for instructions how to get through the different steps of the wizard. The wizard is intended for first-time users only.
The City Wizard is part of the Welcome Wizard of the CityEngine.
Alternatively, it can be started from the top menu inside the CityEngine (File → New... → City Wizard).
First, you are asked to name the new project that is going to be created, as well as the city size.
In the next step you can name your city scene and adjust the settings that specify the terrain. For first usage, it is recommended to use the default settings (including the prepared maps) to ensure correct execution of the wizard.
Select one of the street patterns to control the style of the street graph of your city.
Initial Shapes, the starting elements for building creation are created between streets. Choose a subdivision template.
As a final step, choose one of the prepared rules. This will define the style of the generated buildings in your scene.
